Each Soviet Republic had her own leading “kolkhoz” or “sovkhoz”. There was one such facility in Latvia as well. Not far from Riga there was a “sovkhoz” called Adaji. By that remote time standards it was seating on a huge pile of cash. That partially triggered a management decision to build a new green house complex complete with a new boiler house. Moreover, they aspired not only to have a Boiler house,a  typical soviet style structure one could see here and there, but also to have  one that could be a visual element of the whole facility “skyline”, a dominant in the open field…

Here you may see where I arrived to meet their expectations. For that period, this was really an unusual structure. But I have to tell you that construction quality was awful and that is why I decided to take this picture from a distance…
